The problem has been seen by the Ministry of Health, too, and it has announced a tender to change the old-fashioned machines. The gravity of the problem is shown by the fact that almost every hospital wishes to bid but the allocated HUF 8 billion will not be enough. The whole expense of the new equipments will be covered by the state. There is a machine which was manufactured in 1970 but it is still in use because the doctors can choose either to use it and save lives or stick to the letter of the law.
