"Peter Magyar, aka Brussels Peter, is silent. He remains silent about the Trump–Zelensky dispute. His silence speaks volumes and is in essence an admission. He is silent because Weber stands by Zelensky, and at Weber’s command, so does Brussels Peter. For them, Ukraine is the priority," Tamas Menczer pointe out.
The communications director of Fidesz-KDNP reminded everyone that for Fidesz, Hungary comes first, and peace is in Hungary’s best interest—which is why their ally is Donald Trump, the pro-peace U.S. president
Brussels Peter has chosen Weber, Zelensky and war. We have chosen Trump and peace. How long will you stay silent, Peter?"
Menczer asked.
"Silence roars—the silence of the Tisza," Fidesz MEP Csaba Domotor commented on the situation:
The world has been talking about the Trump–Zelensky meeting for a day now. Everyone is forming opinions and taking sides—either for ending the war or continuing it. But not Tisza Party chief Peter Magyar. The man, who usually puts out six pictures of himself and eight posts at the slightest rustle of a leaf, has now wrapped himself in a veil of silence,
the politician pointed out. According to Domotor, Peter Magyar remains silent because he is bound by the European People’s Party (EPP) line.
"Manfred Weber and his grand coalition have put war policy on autopilot despite ongoing peace talks. They don’t care that what they stand for has no public support. They keep pushing for unconditional support, while Europe burns through HUF 53 trillion (!) (over EUR 131 billion) in spending, wiping out its remaining economic competitiveness and reserves. They are sticking with a policy that has already failed in America and has caused tragic economic damage in Europe. (Reports suggest another HUF 8 trillion (almost EUR 8 billion) in military aid is now being proposed). Peter Magyar and his team are part of this system.
Nobody should be naive enough to think that Weber’s endorsement and the European People’s Party support for the Tisza party come without a price.
There is always a price—no matter how much they deny it. Or, as they like to put it, ‘it’s a kind of duty to align with the People’s Party position.’ That’s why Tisza remains silent," he concluded.
As has been widely reported, the meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House turned into a heated confrontation. The U.S. president criticized Zelensky for exploiting American support and showing no gratitude for the aid provided. Vice President J.D. Vance also delivered harsh criticism, stating that Zelensky’s behavior was disrespectful and that he was endangering his country by refusing diplomatic solutions.
After the meeting, Trump stated:
We learned a lot—things we never would have understood without this pressure-filled conversation. It’s incredible what emotions can bring to the surface.
According to Trump, Zelensky is not prepared for peace if the U.S. is involved, because he believes that American participation gives him leverage in negotiations.
I have concluded that President Zelensky is not ready for peace when America is involved, because he thinks our presence gives him a major advantage in talks
Trump said, adding that he wants peace, not leverage. The U.S. president also criticized Zelensky’s conduct in the White House: "He was disrespectful to the United States in the highly esteemed Oval Office.”
The U.S. President made it clear that Zelensky will only be welcome in Washington again if he genuinely seeks peace.
