Hungary FM Sends Strong Response to Threatening Ukrainians

Stop attacking our energy security! This is not our war! – Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto wrote on X, after his Ukrainian counterpart launched into him in an extremely offensive, undiplomatic tone. It's as if Andriy Sybiha had coordinated with Brussels in his onslaught against Hungary.

As we reported, FM Peter Szijjarto had called on the Ukrainian president to stop threatening Hungary. In response, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha attacked his Hungarian counterpart on X in a condescending manner that was far removed from both the written and unwritten rules of diplomacy.

This is how he put it:

I will answer in a Hungarian way! You don’t need to tell the Ukrainian president what to do or say, or when! He is the president of Ukraine, not of Hungary! Hungary’s energy security is in your hands. Diversify and free yourselves from Russia, just as the rest of Europe has done.
