According to the official website of the Ministry of National Cultural Heritage Hócipő, a satirical paper attached to Tivadar Farkasházy has received recently more than HUF 6 million, Mozgó Világ has got HUF 2,5 million. Mozgó Világ is headed by Julianna P. Szűcs, member of the cultural committee of the Metropolitan Assembly delegated by the Hungarian Socialist Party, and there is Iván Vitányi, Socialist MP among the board of trustees of the foundation publishing Mozgó Világ, too. Mozgó Világ is also supported by Szabad Sajtó Alapítvány (Free Press Foundation) set up by the Hungarian Socialist Party which has shares of Népszabadság as well. The monthly paper Kritika has also received HUF 1,5 million, also published by Népszabadság Holding. Last year Hócipő received HUF 7 million, Mozgó Világ 5 million from the Ministry. Mozgó Világ has been doing well recently as last year it received HUF 3 million from Pro Cultura Urbis Public Endowment while the year before it was given HUF 13 million from the National Cultural Basic Programme. (From the latter source of public money Kritika received HUF 7 million, Beszélő, a liberal monthly HUF 8 million.) On the list of acquisitions of the Ministry there are also companies attached to well-known figures of the left-wing parties. Icon Computer Company for instance has received HUF 12 million for licences of software packages while Tender-Co Economic Management Ltd received HUF 12,5 million for ’handling public acquisitions’. One of the owners of the company is Inhold Holding, formerly supervised by Imre Karl, former Socialist MP who is strategic director of Hungarian Electricity Works headed by Tibor Draskovics. Inhost Ltd, belonging to the sphere of interest of Inhold Ltd last year received more than 11 million from the Chancellery for its ’expertise in planning the budget’. Tender-Co turned up in the Malév scandal of 2003, this company was commissioned to organize the tender for the sreening of Malév Hungarian Airlines and the winner of the tender became Forgács & Kiss Lawyers’ Office attached to Elemér Kiss, then Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office. The Ministry of Finance then revealed the case of incompatibility and Csaba László, then Minister of Finance proposed the dismissal of the management of Malév by the owner, State Privatization and Holding Company.
