According to Fidesz it is scandalous and shocking that Jenő Rácz, the new Minister of Health has claimed in a television programme that nurses could not receive the promised loyalty bonus because the referendum about the privatization of hospitals will take away the necessary money. Gabriella Selmeczi MP (Fidesz) said the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health had said well before the call of referendum that the promises for nurses would not be met.

Jenő Rácz said the referendum and the loyalty bonus had nothing to do with each other though the referendum would be the most expensive one of all times and totally useless because the so-called hospital law had been cancelled by the constitutional court. The parliament has committed a constitutional default because so far it could not ensure the conditions of Hungarian citizens voting abroad – this was the topic of the discussion of Mónika Lamperth, Minister of the Interior and Ferenc Mádl, President of the Republic.

Yesterday there came news about sixteen health institutions taking part in today’s strike. The Democratic Trade Union of Health and Social Workers wants to carry on actions until their goals are achieved. Yesterday the talks of the Ministry and the affected unions had a discussion which proved totally fruitless.
