According to Attila Péterfalvi such documents have been qualified confidential and if this can be cancelled so easily it questions the whole procedure. Premier Gyurcsány after his visit to Washington said his American partners expressed their dissatisfaction with former Prime Minister Victor Orbán who had not dissociated himself from István Csurka's opinion about the terror attack of September 11, 2001. Premier Gyurcsány could not prove his statement but András Bársony, political state secretary of the Foreign Ministry published a selection of documents supporting Premier Gyurcsány’s claim.

Meanwhile the Foreign Ministry reported to the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office that the number of a cypher telegram had been also published. Zsolt Németh MP (Fidesz), chairman of the parliamentary foreign committee said the disclosure of confidential documents serving party politics was illegal and extremely dangerous and wanted to know if the Hungarian ambassador to Stockholm had sent a telegram to the Premier with his propositions for the election campaign. Fidesz has issued a statement claiming that Premier Gyurcsány told untruth about his talk with President Bush and the statement says Fidesz is in possession of a letter iun which President Bush expresses his thanks to Premier Orbán for his solid help against terrorism and for the four years' work to improve Hungaro-American relations.

According to Máriusz Révész, spokesman of Fidesz they possess a letter by Nancy Brinker, former US ambassador to Budapest in which the diplomat requests Viktor Orbán to meet Laura Bush because the President’s wife wishes to express President Bush’s thanks in person for his staunch stand against terrorism.
