– “I ask the people of Ocsa and those arriving from the surrounding area to support Zoltan Bona with their trust,” Viktor Orban began his speech at the Ocsa stop of his nationwide tour on Tuesday. The prime minister also spoke of his personal connection to the town, noting that a dear friend of his, Attila Buza, who is no longer with us, once lived there. Mr. Orban emphasized that
there are several important issues that must be discussed ahead of the election.
He added that elections are occasions when like-minded people gather in unusually large numbers. Addressing Tisza supporters, he said that while government supporters come together to celebrate, Tisza supporters seek to disrupt that celebration. Reflecting on the past four years, he described them as an unjust period, noting that if the government had not had to govern in the shadow of war, progress could have been two or three times faster.
Let's appreciate the fact that today, Hungary is the safest country in Europe,
– the prime minister said. He added that the migration pact will enter into force in June, under which thousands of migrants would be relocated to Hungary from Western Europe. “In the coming months, the most difficult question before us will be how we can resist this, how we can prevent this Brussels plan,” Mr. Orban stressed.
Listing the government’s achievements, he said that since 2010, more than one million additional people are employed. Viktor Orban pledged that if he is able to form a government again, by 2030 five million people will be working and the average wage will reach one million forints.
Among Hungarians, those who say why should we support people who are able but unwilling to work are now in the majority,
– the prime minister noted.
Viktor Orban stated that the most important goal is to strengthen families. As he put it, if there are children, there is a future; if there are no children, there is no future. Accordingly, mothers who have at least two children are exempt from personal income tax for the rest of their lives. He stressed that all of this has been achieved while the war has drained tens of billions of forints from the country. Under such circumstances, the 13th-month pension was restored, and the reintroduction of the 14th-month pension has also begun. For young people, a home creation program has been launched, which—he said—makes it easier for Hungarian youth to acquire their own homes than anywhere else in Europe.
