PM Orban: We Can Only Prevent The Plundering Of Hungarians If We Have A National Gov't That Can Say No To The Demands Of Brussels, Kyiv and Multinationals!

The election is not only about the war, but also about Hungarians’ money. Brussels and Kyiv want to fleece Hungary. Brussels is financing the war through massive loans, the cost of which—if a pro-Ukrainian government is formed—will be paid by Hungarians. We also know they want to cut Hungary off from cheap Russian energy. If they succeed, utility bills will triple and gasoline will cost 1,000 forints per liter. We cannot allow this! We also know that Tisza’s lobbyist politicians would hand back to multinationals everything the national government has taken from large corporations to support families, young people, and pensioners. We can only prevent the plundering of Hungarians if we have a national government that can say no to the demands of Brussels, Kyiv, and multinationals! On April 12, Fidesz is the safe choice!

– “I ask the people of Ocsa and those arriving from the surrounding area to support Zoltan Bona with their trust,” Viktor Orban began his speech at the Ocsa stop of his nationwide tour on Tuesday. The prime minister also spoke of his personal connection to the town, noting that a dear friend of his, Attila Buza, who is no longer with us, once lived there. Mr. Orban emphasized that

there are several important issues that must be discussed ahead of the election.

He added that elections are occasions when like-minded people gather in unusually large numbers. Addressing Tisza supporters, he said that while government supporters come together to celebrate, Tisza supporters seek to disrupt that celebration. Reflecting on the past four years, he described them as an unjust period, noting that if the government had not had to govern in the shadow of war, progress could have been two or three times faster.

Let's appreciate the fact that today, Hungary is the safest country in Europe,

– the prime minister said. He added that the migration pact will enter into force in June, under which thousands of migrants would be relocated to Hungary from Western Europe. “In the coming months, the most difficult question before us will be how we can resist this, how we can prevent this Brussels plan,” Mr. Orban stressed.

Listing the government’s achievements, he said that since 2010, more than one million additional people are employed. Viktor Orban pledged that if he is able to form a government again, by 2030 five million people will be working and the average wage will reach one million forints.

Among Hungarians, those who say why should we support people who are able but unwilling to work are now in the majority,

– the prime minister noted.

Viktor Orban stated that the most important goal is to strengthen families. As he put it, if there are children, there is a future; if there are no children, there is no future. Accordingly, mothers who have at least two children are exempt from personal income tax for the rest of their lives. He stressed that all of this has been achieved while the war has drained tens of billions of forints from the country. Under such circumstances, the 13th-month pension was restored, and the reintroduction of the 14th-month pension has also begun. For young people, a home creation program has been launched, which—he said—makes it easier for Hungarian youth to acquire their own homes than anywhere else in Europe.

This required Hungary to stay out of the war and to resist pressure from Brussels aimed at supporting Ukraine,

– PM Orban recalled. At the same time, he highlighted that Hungary has taken in Ukrainian refugees, provides them with care and employment opportunities, and allows education in the Ukrainian language, while Hungarian schools are being closed in Transcarpathia. He stressed that Hungary will not destroy itself, will say no to the war, and will send neither weapons nor money to Ukraine.

Brusselites would plunder Hungary in three ways,

– he said. The first is the war, through which loans would be extended to Ukraine that Kyiv will never be able to repay, Mr. Orban pointed out. “They would take not only your money, but that of your children and grandchildren as well, pushing us into debt slavery,” Viktor Orban emphasized. He called the second trick cutting Hungary off from cheap Russian oil. He said that if a pro-Ukrainian government came to power, the Druzhba oil pipeline would not be reopened, and utility price protections would be dismantled.

According to Mr. Orban, the third method of plundering Hungarians would be the elimination of taxes on multinationals. “Since 2010, we have collected 15 trillion forints in taxes from multinationals; they had to be brought into sharing the public burden,” Viktor Orban said. He added that, by contrast, a figure parachuted in from Erste Bank to the Tisza Party has clearly advocated rolling back these corporate taxes.

Viktor Orban said that a new wave of refugees could set out toward Hungary from Iran at any time. Under such circumstances, he argued, the criticisms leveled against them actually support their position, as experience is needed in such a situation. He added that being “old” is good news for the country, as it means experience.

This is not a time for risk-taking, for adventurism. Everything has its time. In the next four years, we need a clear head and a steady hand,

 – he said. The prime minister added that they have thoroughly canvassed the country and will continue this work. He noted that in the past two weeks they have succeeded in pushing back Tisza activists who had been active in the digital space.

He stressed that supporters of the governing parties outnumber Tisza supporters everywhere, and that the silent majority has become a vocal majority.

He added that they will win. He said that people tend to trust their neighbors more than politicians, and therefore asked everyone to speak with those around them. He encouraged people to join the winners and vote for Fidesz.

PM Orban concluded by thanking those present for their support so far.

At the beginning of the event, Zoltan Bona, the Fidesz–KDNP candidate, said that utility price cuts and price caps had been the answer to soaring prices. For younger people, home creation support was provided, while for the elderly, the 13th-month pension made life easier. However, tasks remain for the next cycle. He added:

Fidesz is the only guarantee that our money will not go to Kyiv and our men will not go to war.

Mr. Bona, who is running in Pest County’s 9th constituency for Fidesz–KDNP, also stated that Viktor Orban is the one who can keep gender propaganda, migration, and war out of Hungary. Speaking about the election results, he said the outlook is more than encouraging, but they must not become complacent. In the final stretch, they must shift into a higher gear, and if they do so, they will win.

The second speaker at the event was Karoly Panczel, a lawmaker of the governing parties, who first urged voters to support Zoltan Bona and then thanked those present for their decades of support. He emphasized:

Today, we can act for an independent, sovereign Hungary by going to vote and encouraging others to do the same.

He added that sovereignty also means protecting family support and the pension system. “We cannot allow decisions about whom we want to live with to be made in Brussels,” the lawmaker said. He added that in an independent country, the most important thing is peace and avoiding war at all costs. He noted that Hungary can only have an independent, responsible government if the governing parties and their candidate, Zoltan Bona, win in the Ocsa district as well.

This marks the sixteenth stop of the prime minister’s nationwide tour, which began two weeks ago in Kaposvar. Following the county seat of Somogy, Viktor Orban also spoke before large crowds in Eger, Dunaujvaros, Szentendre, Miskolc, Hodmezovasarhely, and last week in Kecskemet, Nagykanizsa, Esztergom, Torokszentmiklos, Gyor, Veszprem, Pecel, on Sunday in Bekescsaba, and this week on Monday in Szolnok.
